PAPUAN SHIELD
DESCRIPTIF / DESCRIPTION :
Bouclier typique du village de Biwat sur les berges de la rivière Yuat. Les dessins traditionnels pratiqués sur ces boucliers sont les mêmes depuis des centaines d'années et représentent des têtes de roussettes (chauves souris au corps poilu). Ces objets, extrèmement décoratifs, sont de nos jours moins utilisés dans cette région, mais restent très symboliques et sont l'illustration d'une culture encore vive. Bois, fibres et pigments naturels (gris, blancs, noir et rouge).
