Figure probablement liée au culte de l'igname et représentant une tête d'ancêtre évoquant un tubercule (forme oblongue) arborant un oiseau calao en partie haute. Le calao, symbole de sagesse chez les Nokuma, évoque également le monde spirituel comme l'ensemble des oiseaux totémiques. Bois ayant travaillé avec le temps. Sculpture montée sur socle.

Figure probably link to the cult of the yam and representing an ancestor head evoking a tuber (oblong shape) with a  hornbill bird on top part. The hornbill, symbol of wisdom for Nokuma people, also evokes the spiritual world as the whole of totemic birds. Wood with some old cracks. Piece sold on base.
