Masque en vannerie de monnaie papoue appelée "Talipun". La population du village de Yangoru confectionne des masques ou figures très stylisées en vannerie et les fixe aux coquilles de l'escargot marin géant "Turbo marmoratus" qu'elle se procure auprès des tribus de la côte. L'objet achevé est ensuite conservé par les Yangoru qui l'utilisent ou en font commerce avec les Iatmul, lesquels utilisent ces oeuvres d'art étranges et composites en guise de dot. Ici le masque sans coquillage, lequel a été cassé et dont il reste un fragment visible en partie basse. Acheté en l'état à la tribu d'origine. Région de Boiken. Vannerie, argile, plumes de casoar et pigments naturels. Vendu avec un socle de présentation.
