Maillet à sagou avec une très belle patine d'usage. Présenté et vendu avec son socle. Ce superbe outil, paraissant d'un autre temps, est encore utilisé dans la région du haut Sépik et sert a dépiauter les coeurs de palmier sagoutier pour en extraire la moëlle de laquelle sera faite la farine de sagou. Cet objet usuel d'un esthétisme parfait tend à se raréfier au profit d'outils plus modernes... Bois dur, tressage osier et pierre. Belle pièce.

Sago pounder with used patina. Presented and sold with its custom base. This magnificent tool, appearing of another time, is still used in the region of upper Sepik river and serves to dig the inside part of palm tree in order to extract the center fibers from it from which will be extracted the sago flour. This a very nice still used today item, a rare one with a stone... This durable article of a perfect aestheticism tends to rarefy for the benefit of more modern tool...
