Masque Didagur collecté dans le village de Mameri dans le Moyen Sépik. Ce type de masque en vannerie, représentant un ancêtre masculin, danse lors des cérémonies d'initiations. L'orifice de la bouche permet à son porteur de voir. Armature en osier et tressage complexe en jonc. Peints de pigments naturels et plumes de casoar sur le pourtour de la bouche. Belle patine d'usage.

The hole at mouth level allow to his holder to see. Shell in osier and complex plaiting in rush. Painted by natural pigments and cassowaries fearthers all around the mouth. Used patina.
