Monnaie d'échange traditionnelle papoue appelée "Kina" (sans cordon). Cette monnaie traditionnelle prestigieuse est exhibée et échangée lors d'évènements importants. Le coquillage (kina : pinctada maxima, huitre perlière) est une monnaie traditionnelle ayant donné son nom à la devise papoue actuelle... Reste de résine naturelle en partie arrière, souvent utilisée par les danseurs pour éviter de se blesser avec l'arrête coupante du coquillage lors des danses. Photos de terrain de Michel Duthen. Traditionnal papuan ornament called "Kina" (without cordon). Collected in Mount Hagen, in Highlands area, center part of Papua new guinea. This kind of ornament is symbol of prosperity, and is a very prestigious currency that is exchanged during very special events.
