KINA ORNAMENT

Belle patine d'usage pour cet ornement pectoral traditionnel appelé "kina" confectionné à partir d'une huitre perlière (pinctada maxima). Collecté dans la région des hauts plateaux papous, ce spécimen montrant des restes de résine naturelle, était probablement intégré sur une plaque pour former un ornement dit "Moka Kina". Vendu avec un socle.

Interesting used patina for this traditional chest ornament called "Kina" and collected in Highlands area in Papua New Guinea. Made in a mother of pearl "pinctada maxima". This kina, showing residue of resin, was probably part of a "moka kina" ornament. Sold with a base.
