DESCRIPTIF / DESCRIPTION :
Parure frontale traditionnelle typique du village de Kamanbit dans le nord de la Papouasie Nouvelle Guinée. Fibres et pigments naturels, plumes de casoars, dents de cochon et coquillages (cauris et de rivière). Ce genre de parure est porté lors des cérémonies traditionnelles. Les dents de cochons sont symbole de prospérité, et les plumes de casoars de bravoure. Ornement corporel traditionnel particulièrement décoratif.
Traditionnal headdress made with natural string and pigments, cassowary feathers, pig teeth and shells. Typical from Kamanibit village, middle sepik area in Papua new guinea, and currently weared when traditionnal singsing. Pig teeth symbolise prosperity and cassowaries feathers of bravery. Very ornamental traditional body ornament.
