Belle planche d'ancêtre appellé "Gope". Les planches gope sont exposées dans la maison des hommes et sont associées aux cérémonies d'initiation.. Ces planches rituelles, souvent exposées à proximité des portes crânes, servent à contrer les maladies et faire fuir les mauvais esprits... La chaux blanche accentuent les dessins sculptés. Pigments rouges à base de palétuviers. Grande taille.

Ancestor's beautiful board called "Gope". Boards gope are exposed in the haustambaran ( men's house) and are associated to the ceremonies of initiation. usually exposed near the skull racks, they serve for countering the diseases and for frightening the bad spirits... The white lime stress the sculptured traditionnal drawings. Big size.
