Tête d'un immense tambour à fente du Vanuatu en arbre à pain. Les tambours à fente de l'île d'Ambrym servent encore de nos jours à communiquer au sein des villages et à rythmer les danses traditionnelles sur la place de danse appelée "Nasara". Ces formes majestueuses, typiques de l'île d'Ambrym, font que ces totems tambours sont devenus l'un des symboles forts de cette région du Pacifique Sud.
