Très beau tambour à main ou "Kundu" collecté dans la région des Blackwater en Papouasie Nouvelle Guinée. Dessins tribaux gravés typiques de cette région et poignée très finement ouvragée évoquant un ancêtre antropo-zoomorphe mi-homme / mi-oiseau. Instrument traditionnel. Les tambours à mains ou "kundus", très symboliques pour les papous car symbolisant les voix des ancêtres, sont des objets difficiles à acquérir... Spécimen sans peau particulièrement esthétique.

Tribal engraved drawings typical of this area and very finely crafted handle evoking an antropo-zoomorphic ancestor half man/ half bird. Traditional instrument. The hand drums or "kundus", very symbolic for the papuans because symbolizing the voices of the ancestors, are objects difficult to acquire... Specimen without skin particularly aestetic.
