FIGURE NOGWI

Vieille figure nogwi du peuple Kwoma. La nogwi intervient pendant la troisième cérémonie de l'igname célébrant sa récolte. Elle vise à satisfaire les ancêtres pour obtenir une future bonne récolte. Cette troisième et dernière cérémonie est réservée aux initiés. Cette nogwi a perdu ses couleurs. Bois dur.

Old nogwi figure from the Kwoma people. The nogwi figure is used during the third ceremony celebrating the yam harvest. This third and last ritual is reserved to the initated people. That carving has lost its color and is made of hardwood.
