Rare masque de danse collecté sur les îles Tabar en Papouasie Nouvelle Guinée. Ce masque en écorce, fibres végétales, tissu et fibres de récupération, pigments est porté lors de danses cérémonielles liées au rite dit "Malagan". Celui-ci a notamment servi lors d'une grande cérémonie organisée sur l'île de Tatau (voir photo jointe). Vendu avec un socle de présentation. 

Rare dance mask collected on the Tabar Islands in Papua New Guinea. This mask in bark,  vegetal  fibers, recovery bag, natural pigments and paints is worn during ceremonial dances related to the rite called "Malagan". It was used in particular during a big ceremony held in on the island of Tatau (see field picture). Sold with a stand.
