Poterie biface Kwoma intervenant dans un culte de fertilité lié à la récolte des ignames. La forme de cette poterie n'est pas sans rappeler l'igname elle même, tubercule sacré. Terre cuite entièrement sculptée et montrant des visages stylisés et des dessins tribaux réhaussés de pigments naturels ou peintures. Probablement utilisée comme pot à herbes. Exposée et vendue avec un socle métallique.

Kwoma biface pottery involved in a fertility cult linked to the harvest of yams. The shape of this pottery is reminiscent of the yam itself, sacred tuber. Terracotta entirely carved and showing stylized faces and tribal designs enhanced with natural pigments or paintings. Probably used as a herb pot. Exposed and sold with a metal base.
