CANOE PROW

Ancienne proue de pirogue ayant navigué sur le fleuve Sépik, dans le nord de la Papouasie Nouvelle Guinée. La pirogue reste le quasi seul moyen de transport possible dans la vallée du Sépik. Lorsque la pirogue devient inutilisable, les habitants acceptent de vendre la proue. Deux visages stylisés Janus, typique de la région des Murik lakes et évoquant un ancêtre mythique du clan. Bois éraudé par le temps et l'usage.
