Petit banc d'usage (ou repose tête ?) servant dans les cases d'habitation. Palabres, repas, préparations d'objets rituels ou parures traditionnelles, repos, ces petits bancs partagent le quotidien des papous.... Comme nombre d 'objets usuels, il est gravé de motifs claniques évoquant des plantes et animaux totémiques. Ici évocation d'un crocodile. Bois avec très belle patine d'usage.

Used bench (or head rest ?) serving in the ceremonial house. Palaver, meals, preparations of ritual objects or traditional adornments, rest, these small benches share the everyday life of the papuan people .... As many of the usual objects, it is engraved with clan motifs evoking totemic plants and animals. Here evocation of the crocodile. Wood with beautiful patina of use.
