Imposant plat Siassi ou "coupe à nourriture" en bois dense présentant une très belle patine d'usage . Cet objet de prestige a deux fonctions : une fonction usuelle consistant à l'utiliser en tant que plat au cours de rites cérémoniels, mais également une fonction d'objet d'échange entre les tribus des îles Tami et Siassi et les tribus des autres îles ou des côtes de la grande terre. Dessins tribaux gravés évoquant des ancêtres et des animaux totémiques (poissons, oiseaux). Pièce d'exception de part sa taille et la qualité des sculptures. Une fissure ancienne visible sur les clichés. Très belle pièce d'art tribal Océanien. Socle sur demande uniquement.

Really big Siassi "food bowl" made of hard wood with a very beautiful patina.
