Grand masque représentant un ancêtre spirituel mi-homme mi-oiseau collecté dans le village de Wombun en Papouasie Nouvelle Guinée. Tête d' oiseau sculpté au niveau du nez et restes de décoration peintes en volutes en sous couche. Bois, osier et coquillages. Pièce montrant une belle patine d'usage. Socle sur demande uniquement.

A big mask depicting a spiritual ancestor, half-man and half-bird, collected in the village of Wombun in Papua New Guinea. A bird’s head is carved at the nose level, and traces of decoration in the form of scrolls remain beneath the surface. Made of wood, wicker and shells. The piece shows a beautiful patina from use.
