Imposant tambour à fente appelé "garamut" collecté dans le village de Kanangara en Papouasie Nouvelle Guinée. Le tambour à fente sert principalement de moyen de communication,  mais peut également servir à rythmer les cérémonies traditionnelles ou "singsing".  Pièce de très taille entièrement sculptée et évoquant un crocodile. Bois très dense présentant des traces d'usage. Vendu avec un bâton de tambour. Pièce unique.

Really big slit drum called "garamut" collected in the village of Kanangara in Papua New Guinea. The slit drum serves primarily as a means of communication, but can also be used to rhythm traditional ceremonies or "singsing".  Very large piece entirely carved and evoking a crocodile. Very hard wood with traces of use. Sold with a drum stick. Single piece.
